DK cone - Cambrian Mountains Wool – Ironstone
Ironstone: A warm and cheery orange, not glowing. The slightly rusty orange that colours the local stone. Ancient deposits of iron within the mountains take on reddish tones as they oxidise, streaking the rocks with muted stripes. Ironstone is quiet flash of colour, a highlight in a palette of muted tones.
Please note: All of our clearance cones are from a previous dye-lot (dye lot 05), meaning there may be subtle differences to the colour of other dye-lots. Our most recent is 06.

Our dyed yarns are spun from finest Welsh Mule: Bluefaced Leicester with character! The Welsh Mule comes about by crossing the local hill breeds with a Bluefaced Leicester ram, and this cross improves the wool. Suited to clothing, this yarn has a good definition whilst developing a nice halo. Hand wash and don’t tumble dry!
Our wool is produced on farms throughout the Cambrian Mountains Region, which encompasses much of Mid Wales – a stunningly beautiful and wild area
